This interior needed more than a simple change of furnishings.
It needed a new rhythm, better light, consistency and materials that could turn an ordinary apartment into a calm, elegant place to live.

From an interior from another era to an apartment with its own calm
It was not about one change. It was about changing the way the whole apartment feels.
The starting point was typical of older apartments in residential blocks: heavier furniture, accidental lighting, dated finishes, too many elements and rooms that worked functionally, but no longer felt fresh.
The main goal was to bring order to the whole apartment. Each room kept its own function, but they all began to speak the same language: warm wood, soft beige tones, stronger accents, light and details that lift everyday life.
Hallway
A first impression that finally works for the whole apartment
The hallway gave away the age of the apartment from the first step. Old doors, heavy colours, a random hanger and no clear lighting made the entrance feel flat. After the change, wood, vertical slats, soft lighting, a seat, a mirror and built-in storage brought order to everyday use without taking away space.
Entrance rhythm
Slats, mirror and built-in furniture guide the eye along the hallway. The space feels calmer, longer and better planned.
Function without chaos
The seat, shoe space, hooks and shelf are held within one wall section. Everyday items have their place, but they do not dominate the interior.
Warmth of material
Wood takes the lead. It warms the entrance and immediately sets the tone for the rooms that follow.
Light as a detail
The lighting is not just a decorative effect. It adds depth, brings out the texture of the slats and stops the narrow corridor from feeling flat.
Living room
From a heavy wall unit to a soft place to relax
The living room had been filled with heavy built-ins, patterned fabrics and elements that strongly closed the room in. After the makeover, lightness, daylight and a simple lounge layout became the priority. A wooden TV unit, light fabrics, soft curtains and a calm coffee table created a more contemporary interior that still feels warm and homely.
Lighter composition
Instead of a full-wall unit, a lower and calmer TV line appeared. The room can breathe and keeps the light coming from the window.
Soft daylight
Curtains and sheers give structure to the large window area. The room gained the atmosphere it was missing before.
Natural base
Wood, beige tones and warm textures create a base that does not tire the eye. This is a living room designed for everyday life, not only for a photograph.
Focal point
The TV and built-in furniture now form a clear axis for the room. The living room stopped being a set of separate pieces and began to work as one composition.
Kitchen
Small floor area, stronger materials and much more class
The kitchen had a classic layout, but visually it felt tired. Old fronts, tiles, appliances and accessories created a room that worked, but gave little pleasure in daily use. After the change, it became a more elegant, almost jewellery-like composition: dark fronts, gold details, fluted glass, a black sink, a stronger worktop and a work wall with character.
Dark elegance
Dark fronts and a black floor gave the kitchen depth. It is a bolder choice, but in a small room it works thanks to light and gold accents.
Practical detail
The sink, tap, handles and lighting are not random. They work technically, while also building the character of the kitchen.
Order in the built-ins
Tall units, closed cabinets and open sections were arranged so the kitchen stays practical without looking heavy.
Atmosphere at the table
The table by the window became part of the arrangement, not an afterthought. The kitchen gained a pleasant, cafe-like corner.
Bedroom
A room that became more than a place for a bed
Before the change, the bedroom was correct, but heavy and without atmosphere. Large dark furniture and random accessories took away its lightness despite good daylight. After the project, it became a calm, warm space with built-ins, a soft bed, vertical wood, curtains and lighting that gives the feeling of a private suite.
Hotel-like calm
The bed, textiles and light create a softer atmosphere. This is an interior meant to calm you down, not only to contain the function of sleep.
Custom built-ins
A full wall of built-in storage keeps things hidden and the room visually ordered. The bedroom is no longer filled with separate pieces of furniture.
Wood and light
Wood accents by the bed and subtle lighting add depth. It is a simple move that strongly changes how the whole room feels.
Softness by the window
Curtains, sheers and light fabrics filter the light. The room feels calm and more private instead of raw.
Bathroom
The strongest change of character in the whole apartment
The old bathroom had the feel of previous decades: light tiles, a curtain, a visible washing machine, random storage and no clear atmosphere. After the makeover, it became a much bolder space. Dark tiles, copper tones, glass, a large mirror, lighting and a wall-hung cabinet turned it into the most expressive room in this project.
Hotel-like contrast
A dark floor, copper surfaces and glass create a moodier, bolder and clearly more premium interior.
Shower zone
A clear glazed shower zone replaced the bath with a curtain. It is a change that organises the function and immediately raises the standard.
Light and reflection
A large backlit mirror strengthens the depth of the room. In such a dark bathroom, lighting has to be planned, not added at the end.
Fittings as detail
Copper and gold accents guide the whole composition. They make the dark materials feel elegant and jewellery-like, not cold.
What mattered most in this project
Consistency that changes how even a standard apartment feels
The strength of this project is not one single effect. The kitchen is stronger, the living room softer, the bathroom more hotel-like and the bedroom calmer.
Only together do they create an apartment that feels designed as a whole, not like a set of randomly refreshed rooms.
One material base
Wood, beige tones, darker accents and warm light return across the rooms, making the apartment feel coherent.
Light leads the atmosphere
Backlighting, lamps, curtains and reflections were treated as part of the design. They are what take the heaviness out of the interior.
Everyday life looks better
This is not a project detached from real life. Every room has to work daily, while making everyday life feel more refined.
